In 2013 German authorities adopted an occupational exposure limit (MAK-Wert) of 0,3 ppm in the TRGS 900 for MEKO (Methylethylketoxime / 2-Butanonoxime).
In 2014 MEKO was added to the CoRAP list and the BAuA (Federal Institute for Occupational Saftey and Health in Germany) publishes a "Substance Evaluation Conclusion Document". In this document BAuA proposes a revised classification of MEKO, as CARC. CAT. 1B / H 350 (Can cause cancer).
In August 2015 CEPE recommends their members to start looking for MEKO replacements with a better hazard profile.
Since second half of 2015 Valirex Noval NEXT a suitable MEKO substitute belongs to Umicore's product portfolio.

Umicore's Ecos ND 15 is a polymere drier and catalyst for application in paints, coatings, inks and unsaturated polyester systems. The product is non hazardous for human health and the environment, it is not toxic and can be used as substitute for common cobaltcarboxylates like cobaltoctoate, cobaltnaphtenate or cobaltneodecanoate.

A new Binder with a solid content of 60 % for water-based Systems.
Valires EX 324.60 is a long-oil alkyd emulsion based on linoleic fatty acid, which could be used for water-based primers, top-coatings, wood-stains, parquet and floor-coatings.

As well-known, Celey-Chemie represents Umicore Specialty Materials Brugge (USMB) in the markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the product-range of metal-carboxylates / driers.
We are pleased to inform, that this fruitful cooperation will be extended. With immediate effect Celey-Chemie also represents USMB for the product- range of binders in the above mentioned markets.
In the next few days we will adjust our delivery-program respectively by the Umicore Valires, Valithane and Valithix resins and appreciate any customer request concerning alkyd resins and driers.
We hope that this extension of our delivery-program will intensify the cooperation with our existing customers and will lead to new relations.

Umicore Specialty Materials Brugge NV and Celey-Chemie Vertriebs oHG agreed upon a cooperation in the markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Celey-Chemie will distribute in these markets the Umicore Valirex metal-carboxylates produced in the Brugge factory. The Valirex metal-carboxylates are widely used as driers, cross-linkers and catalysts in the coatings, ink, UP and PU-industry.
Celey-Chemie, with 30 years experience in the distribution of organic metal-carboxylates in the mentioned industries, is convinced having a powerful partner with Umicore Specialty Materials Brugge NV. The Production in Brugge is the former Corn. Van Loocke NV, which belongs to the Umicore groupsince 1st of November 2007.

After nearly 11 years the cooperation between OM Group Inc. (OMG) and Celey-Chemie Vertriebs oHG will be terminated on the 31.03.2008.
From 01.04.2008 on our current duties in the OMG organisation, will be taken over by Borchers GmbH, which is part of OM Group Inc. since 01.10.2007.
On this occasion we will not miss to thank all our customers and business relations for the mutual trusting and longterm cooperation.
